Epitaxy

Crystalline film growth · Application review

Drawing-specific chamber, gas-delivery and window components for a defined epitaxy application.

Process overview

Where the components fit

Epitaxy forms a crystalline film on a substrate. In semiconductor manufacturing it can provide a foundation layer or a film with engineered electrical properties. The material system and intended device function determine the process requirements.

For equipment designs that use quartz in the relevant locations, process chambers, gas-delivery parts and viewing windows are possible component families. WONIK reviews the drawing and operating environment before proposing a material or manufacturing scope.

  1. 01

    Specify the material system

Identify the substrate, intended epitaxial film and equipment module so the component review starts from a defined application.

  2. 02

    Map the chamber interfaces

Chamber geometry, gas connections and any viewing aperture are matched to the customer drawing and installation position.

  3. 03

    Review exposure and acceptance

Gases, temperature profile, cleaning exposure, coatings and particle criteria inform material review and the customer qualification plan.

Before quotation

Define your application.

Epitaxy covers different materials and equipment arrangements. A quartz component used in one arrangement is not automatically suitable for another. Silicon (Si), silicon carbide (SiC) and coated materials must be specified distinctly, with final suitability established through customer qualification.
